One of the tourist attractions in Cebu is the famous Taoist Temple.  It is a beautiful Temple similar to the Great Wall of China where it is open for people who worship and non-worshipers to ask for their wishes.  This temple is located in the Beverly Hills Subdivision in Cebu City, Philippines.  In 1972, the Taoist Temple was built by Cebu’s substantial Chinese community.  It is 110 meters high and 360 ft above sea level.

The Taoist Temple is also an attractive place for many people because of its beautiful appearance.  This temple is a steep, mult-hued and multi-tiered  one that attracts attention because of its access to its three separate winding routes.  Any devotees who enter the Taoist Temple have rituals performed other than praying and asking for their wishes.  This includes washing hands, needing a barefoot when entering the chapel, and breaking two wooden blocks which when they are facing you in the same way means that your request will be fulfilled but if not it means not yet this time for you to achieve it.

For Taoists, this temple was the center of their worship.  And this religion follows the teachings of the ancient philosopher Lao Zi.  The ritual of Taoist devotees also includes climbing 81 steps every Wednesday and Sunday to lighten joss sticks and read the fate of monks.  Its 81 steps represent 81 chapters of Taoism scriptures.

You will see a lot when you enter the Taoist Temple.  The beautiful sights that Cebu has are within your reach when you are inside the Temple because of its spacious balcony.  There is also a church, library, souvenir store and wishing well.  The Temple is also popular when it comes to the grade school students.

On the other hand, there are also rules that the Taoist Temple enforces such as wearing decent clothing.  You can not wear sexy dresses and shorts.  There are also some places inside the temple that prevent the taking of a picture especially when someone is worshiping inside the altar.  And once you visit here you also need to prepare yourself for the long walk, if you want to visit the whole and winding Temple.  And most of all do not make too much noise.  You can also use the Telescope if you want to see up close the beautiful sights of Cebu.
