Would you dare to jump at Death Pool? Why do they call this Death Pool? Originally called Depth Pool, locals coined the term “Death Pool” because it suited the sites thrilling effect among beach lovers. When this was discovered and posted this on social media, they started calling this “death pool”. Cabongaoan Beach is a white sand beach located in Burgos, Pangasinan. It takes 5 hours drive from Manila. The death pool looks scary but it is safe to jump and swim.

The death pool is about a 30-minute hike because of the sharp rocks that you need to carefully traverse. The rocks are really sharp so please wear slippers. The hole fills up with water and invites beachgoers to jump in. It’s scary yet relatively safe. This beach will amaze you with its sand and clear waters. The sand is not as beautiful as Boracay, but very similar to Patar white sand beach in Bolinao.

This beach is one of the most recommended destinations for adventurous individuals. A trip to Cabongaoan Beach will never be complete if you forego checking out the reason for which it is most famous–The Death Pool. The reasons why Cabongaoan beach became very popular today. It is not a really a deadly destination, but a more thrilling and fun experience rather than a dangerous one.

If you’re going to visit Cabongaoan on a day trip, you can just bring your own food and water. You know the place is kinda remote. There are very limited options and food at the beach itself.


How to get Death Pool?

1. Ride a bus from Manila going to Alaminos, Pangasinan like Victory liner, five-star bus, Dagupan bus, and Philippine Rabbit.
2. Once you arrive in Alaminos, take another bus ride going to Sta. Cruz, Zambales. It will pass through Burgos, Pangasinan. Drop off point is in front of Burgos Market and 7/11.
3. There are tricycles that you can hire going to Cabongaoan Beach. Travel time is around 1hr It is recommended to get the contact number of the tricycle driver and contact them so they can fetch you.
