Tupig, is a Filipino native delicacy that is everyone’s favorite. It comes from the provinces of Ilocos and Pangasinan. It is eaten as a snack or merienda. You can also share it with your family, relatives, and friends as gifts. There are also many versions available throughout the Philippines, depending on where they are made. It just does it easily and quickly. The tupig is delicious and tasty because it is made from glutinous rice and buco strips, coconut milk, sugar or molasses and sesame seeds that wrapped in banana leaves and cooked in charcoal.

INGREDIENT:

2 cups Glutinous rice powder
1/2 cup Sugar
3/4 cup water or coconut water
1 cup shredded coconut
Banana leaf

 WAY OF COOKING:

1. Mix all ingredients, until it becomes like a dough.

2. Prepare a clean banana leaf. Put this with fire slightly. Cut about 5 inches each.

3. Brush oil or butter in the part of the banana leaf that you put of tuping mixture.

4. Put the tupig mixture, it must be thin only like lumpiang shanghai just for easy to cook.

5. It can be cooked in a grill pan. Cook until the leaves are up. Toss slightly to see when it’s cooked.

6. Just test a few pieces first.
