Siomai is a kind of Chinese dumpling that people love it so much. You can use pork, chicken and beef siomai as its flavor. There are many people eating siomai because it is delicious especially if you have a sauce such as soy sauce, calamansi and chili garlic sauce. You will see this food on some eateries, stalls, and restaurants or you can also do it on your own. The cooking of siomai is very simple because you can be cooked this through steam. You can also fry it if you want.

For a flavor of the siomai recipe we make, here’s how we prepare it. It’s called PORK siomai.

Ingredients:

2 1/2 kg. ground pork
1 cup shrimp minced
2 sachets Knorr Savor Rich Pork Seasoning 44g each
1 cup jicama (singkamas) minced
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 cup onion minced
1 cup carrots minced
1 piece of the egg (uncooked)
1/2 cup scallions (onions leaves) minced
30 pieces wonton wrapper
Water use for steaming

Cooking Directions:

Combine ground pork, and minced shrimp in a bowl and mix it. Put carrots, onions, scallions, eggs, ground black pepper, and sesame oil then mix well until all ingredients are well blended. Add the knorr savor rich pork liquid seasoning and mix it again. Then scoop 1 1/2 tablespoon of the pork mixture and place it on wonton paper and wrap it. Do this step until the pork mixture is consumed. Arrange to place it on the steamer once the wrap is finished. Steam it within 15 to 20 minutes. When it is cooked transfer it to the serving plate and serve with dipping sauce: soy sauce, calamari, and some chili garlic sauce.
