INGREDIENTS:
4 pcs. Individual Pizza Dough Balls – at temperature
1 large can Plum Tomatoes (I Prefer Pomi Brand Crushed Tomatoes)
3 tbsp. Minced Garlic
1/4 Cup Fresh Chopped Basil
1/4 cup oil
Salt & Pepper
Dash Red Pepper Flakes
3 cups Diced Mozzarella Cheese
4 large Fresh Basil Leaves
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. for creating the sauce, heat half the oil in a very saucepan and saute the garlic until it becomes brown.
2. Add the tomatoes, and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
3. Put the chopped basil and stir well. Cook on low to medium heat within 10 to fifteen minutes, then put aside to cool down.
4. Heat the oven to it’s highest setting (Usually 500 degrees F.)
5. For preparing the dough, press each dough ball into a flat disk on a lightly floured counter or breadboard.
6. Using your fingers and knuckles carefully, press the dough out into a 12-inch circle.
7. Place the dough into a baking peel lightly coated with cornmeal.
8. Put an oversized scoop of sauce into each pizza and spread evenly the entire pizza leaving a 1-inch edge.
9. don’t use an excessive amount of sauce as you ought to be able to see the dough through the sauce.
10. Put some mozzarella cheese on each pizza and put one basil leaf within the center.
