From Spanish origin, Maja Blanca is a white delicacy or dessert that has become known in the Philippines. Like other sweet delicacies such as Leche Plan, it is also delicious and is also present at all Festivity. Maja Blanca is also known as Coconut Pudding. This dessert recipe is quick and easy to make. The ingredients for this are very familiar. Maja Blanca is one of those that people love as a dessert because of its sweet taste. With coconut milk, condensed milk, cornstarch, evaporated milk and sugar you can make Maja Blanca and enjoy it even more if you mix it with whole sweet kernel corn and put cheese or toasted grated coconut on top to enhance the dessert attraction.

To better understand what Maja Blanca is, here’s how to do it.

Ingredient:

8 cups Coconut milk
1 1/2 cornstarch
18 ounces condensed milk
1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 can Whole sweet kernel corn
10 tbsp. toasted grated coconut (Latik)

Cooking Procedure:

In a cooking pot, pour the coconut milk and let it boil. Add the sugar, condensed milk, and the whole sweet kernel corn and mix until the ingredients are spread out. Let it simmer for 8 minutes. Evaporated milk and cornstarch need to be combined, mixing them until the cornstarch is dissolved. Then pour them into the pot with the coconut milk stir it well while cooking the mixture until it reaches the correct thickness. When it is cooked, place it in a serving tray and arrange it to make it flat using a spatula. Let the heat dissipate and place the cooked Maja Blanca in the refrigerator to let it cool for 1 hour. When it is dry and cold place it toasted grated coconut on top and prepare it for serving to enjoy eating together.
